Why the Gym Is My Reset Button
I've played just about every sport at one point or another, but the constant through all of it has been the gym. On a good day it's where I get stronger; on a rough day it's where I go to clear my head. Either way, it's my reset button.
A lot of the value is just the routine. Showing up, doing the work, logging a little progress — it's a small promise you keep to yourself, and it has a way of spilling over into everything else. When the gym is dialed in, the rest of the week tends to feel more manageable too.
I try to treat fitness as a long game. No crash programs, no chasing a number for a month and then quitting — just steady, sustainable habits I can keep for years. That mindset takes the pressure off. It's not about being the strongest person in the room; it's about still being in the room a decade from now.
