Tokyo Is a Car Lover's City

If you love cars, Tokyo belongs on your list. It isn't just that the machines I grew up admiring came from here — it's that the whole city treats cars as something worth caring about. You feel it in the spotless garages, the tucked-away tuning shops, and the way a decades-old hatchback gets kept like an heirloom.

The best part happens late at night. Parking areas turn into informal meets, and you'll find everything from immaculate classics to wild one-off builds, all owned by people who just want to talk shop. Nobody's showing off — they're sharing something they've poured years into.

What sticks with me is the respect. Cars are cleaned, driven, and looked after, not just parked and forgotten. It's the same feeling that got me into JDM classics in the first place, and standing in the middle of it is about as happy as I get on a trip.
